Are all of the 22 deck in the 44 deck?

Yes. Every star in Familiar Stars is also in Resonant Stars.

Does each larger deck contain all of the smaller ones?

Not always, and it is worth knowing before you choose. All of the 22 are included in the 44. After that the decks diverge.

Three stars, Alcyone, Electra, Pleione, appear in the 44 and in no larger deck. All three are sisters of the Pleiades. Some of the larger decks carry the Pleiades as a single card instead of separating out its stars.

Why are Beta Hydri and Mintaka in the free deck of eight but not in the 22?

The deck of eight is meant to feel a little bit like all the decks, not only the 22, which has the more well known stars.

The other decks include some more unfamiliar stars. Some you may have looked at many times without knowing their name, like Mintaka, one of the three stars of Orion’s Belt. Others you may never have noticed at all, like Beta Hydri.

The cards

Are all the cards real stars?

In these decks, yes. Every card is a single star with a name, a constellation and a place in the catalogues.

Can everything in the cards be seen by eye from Earth?

Yes. Every card is something a person can stand outside at night and look at, with no instrument at all. But four things decide whether you will see it on any given night.

Where you are. The sky is not the same from everywhere. Several southern cards never rise for northern viewers, and several northern ones never rise in the south. No one standing in one place sees all of them.

The time of year. Earth carries us around the sun, so the night faces a different direction in January than it does in July. A star that is overhead in one season sits behind the sun in another, and simply is not there to be seen. Every card has the season it belongs to.

How dark the sky is. Two cards, Hoerikwaggo and Polaris Australis, have stars that sit at the very edge of what an unaided eye can see, so likely will not be visible in a city where there is too much artificial light. All the others are comfortably visible from an ordinary dark garden.

Where it is in its cycle. Seven cards have stars that do not hold a steady brightness. For example, Algol dims every two and a bit days as a companion crosses it, and Betelgeuse brightens and dims over months.

How do you check the facts on the cards?

About the star facts explains this in full.

Using the cards

Are these predictions or instructions from a psychic, medium, or some kind of cosmic entity?

No. These cards are tools for reflection, orientation, listening, and presence. They offer a space for your own inner wisdom to come forth. The words are invitations to see things differently, and to let things shift gracefully and unfold naturally. If the words do not feel right for you, you are free to let them go.

Can naviga stars heal me or solve my problems?

No. These cards are tools designed to support self-reflection and presence. They are not a substitute for professional therapeutic support. If you are in distress, please reach out to someone you trust, a qualified professional, or a crisis service in your country.
